Easy Chocolate Fondue

Some of my husband's relatives stayed with us last weekend. It was so great to see them and spend time with their family. On Saturday night we had a Fondue/Game night. I served chocolate fondue and caramel fondue with all the fixings. It was so good!!! Fondue has always been a favorite of mine. I could just stand by the fondue pot and dip/eat for hours! :)

Some of the dippers included brownies, pound cake, and marshmallows. Mini oreos and cheesecake would also be good!

Here's the chocolate fondue recipe. Tomorrow I will post the caramel fondue recipe.

(This recipe makes about 3 cups)

16 oz. good quality bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Place the chopped chocolate in a large bowl. In a large Pyrex container or other heat-proof bowl, measure and heat the heavy cream until almost boiling. Pour the cream over the chocolate and let sit for 1 minute. Using a small whisk, stir the chocolate and cream together until it all comes together into a smooth sauce. Add the vanilla and whisk in. Serve warm.
